Your starter pack gets you fifteen turnip seeds to start your farm. Take your hoe and prep fifteen spots near a water source, plant the seeds and water them. Watering is going to take up a lot of your time so being near a water source will save you a lot of time running back and forth to refill your watering can. After that I suggest heading to Pierre's and buying some seeds. Green beans come in as a close second if planted by the third of the month as they are a recurring crop.
Be careful when planting beans though since they are one of the crops you aren't able to walk through meaning if you don't plan it out right you'll have plants you can't reach. One special crop that you can only buy at the egg festival are strawberries. Strawberries are expensive but if you plant them before the 16th you'll make a fair bit of money off them before the season is through as they give you two full harvests. If you've unlocked the fertilizer recipe I highly suggest using that before planting strawberries, it'll greatly increase your profit.
We suggest you to pay your attention to strawberries in spring, blueberries in summer and cranberries in autumn. Berries give you a big advantage, since they are quite expensive and each tree produces new berries during the whole season. That's why we mentioned this source of income first, as a method of earning easy money.

If you haven't built a silo at this point I would highly suggest building one so that it'll be finished before the end of the season. This way you can start collecting the hay from cutting down all of the grass in your fields. Hay can be a very costly expense if you get animals and saving up a fair bit before you get them can be great in the long run.
Don't worry about mining and fishing as much if you don't have the time or energy to do so, you will have lots of time over the winter. Continue foraging if you have the time to net you a little more money without the energy costs. There is a lot of time over the winter to fill in the activities that you missed during the other seasons such as talking with the townsfolk. The first thing players should be doing each morning is watering and/or harvesting their crops. Once that process is complete, any remaining energy should be used to clear the rocks and trees that have overrun your farm. Make sure you put down the fertilizer and water first, easier that way, speed grow is supposed to work after you plant, but it doesn't in my experience. When you get your starfruit down, start stockpiling kegs to turn it into wine. Starfruit wine is basically the best thing in the game for money. As you probably guessed, there aren't any crops for your farmer to grow during the winter.
At least, not in the kinds of numbers you've become accustomed to. But that doesn't mean there isn't money to be made for the next 28 days. It's not hard to turn a profit on yours crops but preservers will squeeze every dime out of your produce. All you need to do, to unlock the preservers, is raise your Farming level to four.
Pickled vegetables and fruit jellies sell for up to 200 percent more gold per unit than unprocessed produce. But the increase in profits more than justify the couple days of extra time. Aim to have at least 20 preservers built by the end of summer. Maybe a few more if you're already planting a larger-than-average (let's say 100-plus) number of seeds. Money is not as necessary at the beginning of winter, unless you plan to expand your farm. You can get enough to upgrade tools during the season itself, and have plenty of time to accomplish that.
The main goal should be to build up money for when Spring arrives, so that you do better in your second year than you did in the first. You'll want to be able to make a run on those profitable spring crops like potato or rhubarb seeds when they become available, as well as any other plants that you missed for bundles.
